Happy Valentines Day

Valentines Day is almost here, hearts, flowers and chocolates. We buy special gifts for the people in our lives that we love. On this day we want them to know we’re thinking of them and appreciate their presence in our lives. Where Valentine’s Day is traditionally thought of as a day for couples, I’m glad it’s broader than that now. My daughter and I give each other gifts and thanks to Face Book I just sent hearts to a bunch of my friends.

Isn’t love a wonderful thing. We are completely focused on another. We are wholeheartedly in the moment. Whether it is our partner, our pets, children, or friends. When we love someone we give them our undivided attention, and it feels great !! When we feel good, it boosts our self-confidence, which leads us to have better relationships. Statistics show that people who create healthy relationships, and stay socially connected live longer as well. *

Love like anything else gets better with practice. So let’s practice, practice, practice. Let’s live longer, be happier, live more connected, joyful, love focused lives!!

I came across this love story I’d like to close with.

The marriage of Elizabeth Barrett to Robert Browning restored her health. At 39 she was an invalid spinster poet who rarely left the house. After writing to Mr Browning, a year later she walked out of her father’s house, married and went to live in Italy. She gave birth to a healthy son when she was 43. She wrote of her devotion to the man who restored her health and life: “How do I love thee? Let me count the ways. I love thee to the depth and breadth and height of my soul.”

And if you are still looking for that special someone you might want to check out a newly published book called “The Soul Mate Secret,” by Arielle Ford.

Happy Valentines Day and Beyond !!
